Join Code for America for a day of investigation and dialogue into civic technology and innovation in the City of the Chicago. 

This event has 3 themes:

• Data: what civic data is important and how can one get it?
• Engagement: how can applications be designed to contextualize data and make it meaningful?
• Action: what is needed---of and beyond technology---to create change and innovation in the City of Chicago?

Who should come?

Everyone who cares about making government more open, accessible and engaged with its residents. We're bringing together Chicago's community, government, journalism, technology and business leaders, inventors, designers and software coders.

Who is hosting this?

Code for America is a national nonprofit that partners with city governments to re-imagine the relationship between government and citizens. Code for America has 4 fellows working with the City of Chicago as well as Brigade, a program to recruit and volunteers to deploy and sustain civic technology.

February 25th is a day of national civic innovation. Chicago is one of eight Code for America cities hosting community and technology events nationwide. 

What's the format? 

This forum is organized as an "unconference": participants set the agenda in the morning, break into smaller groups to discuss ideas and develop projects, then come together in the evening to present findings and share progress. The purpose is dialogue and knowledge sharing, not PowerPoint.
